OWFL LADIES START SEASON WITH A WIN

Week 1 of the Ontario Women’s Football League saw our Wildcats travel to Clarington to take on the Knights. This is our second season in the OWFL. Our ladies dominated the day and won 38-6.

Offence was led by second year quarterback #8 Teagan Roy, who rushed 11 times for 220 yards. She also scored three touchdowns. LB/RB #29 Kaliane Sterling-Godu was also a force in the run game rushing for 76 yards on 2 carries, and one touchdown. RB #20 Alex Denney with some tough running had 59 yards on 9 carries, and one touchdown.

The defence was outstanding all day, not allowing the Knights to get going on offence.
#29 LB Kaliane Sterling Godu – 8.0 tackles
#15 DL Izzy Pilon – 7.5 tackles
#5 LB Marissa Thomas – 6.5 tackles
#2 CB Stacey St-Amand – 6.0 tackles

The ladies are now on a bye week, and travel next week to take on the Kemptville Jaguars (0-1) on Friday May 22 at 7pm.
